In memory of Lena Munday

Afrocats are saddened to announce the unexpected passing of Lena Munday on Saturday 2nd May 2026 from a short battle with cancer.

Lena supported us in fundraising and compiling our organisational story. Our founder and CEO Magdalen shared the following tribute:

'Many thanks to Lena, whose warmth, kindness, and care meant so much to us as a charity, and to me personally. Lena was not only a dedicated supporter of our work but also a wonderful friend. She created a safe space where we could share openly, support one another, and lean on each other in times of need.

'Her presence brought compassion, strength, and calm, and her impact will continue to be felt in our community and in our hearts. She was deeply important to us, and will be greatly missed.'
