Max Trax CIC wins at the Spirit of Manchester Awards 2026

Afrocats would like to give a huge congratulations to Kerrie Rimmer-Chambers of Max Trax CIC, who recently won the Creative Community Spirit Award at the Spirit of Manchester Awards 2026.

Kerrie proudly shared a few words with us about winning the award – read on to see what she had to say:
‘Winning the Creative Community Spirit Award at this year’s Spirit of Manchester Awards is an absolute honour that still hasn’t fully sunk in.
This award is massive for MaxTrax - it shines a light on our mission, the supporters who turn up, volunteers and groups who join up with us.
For me, this award is deeply validating: grassroots community and creative work often happens without being thought about, it’s just delivered from within my inner passion.
And to have that recognised by those who nominated and voted for me means the world, although I don’t do what I do for the recognition.
This award is massive for MaxTrax - it shines a light on our mission, the supporters who turn up, volunteers and groups who join up with us.
The award gives our organisation a powerful boost, opens new doors and conversations to amplify our impact across our city.
Crucially, none of this happens alone, and MaxTrax isn’t an island - our strengths and motivation comes from our relationships with members of the public, local projects and grassroots groups.
This award belongs to all of us who believe in the power of Community.
Let’s keep building together.’
Congratulations once again Kerrie, and we look forward to working with you again soon.
