Afrocats tore up the stage at HOME last month with a show-stopping performance for Horizons Festival 2025 – and what a moment it was.
This year’s festival theme, ‘More in Common,’ echoed through every beat, step and smile on stage as Afrocats’ dancers from across our youth projects lit up the space with an energetic celebration of culture, unity and joy.
The set featured everything from Afrobeats and capoeira to Bruno Mars and Benson Boone – a global soundtrack for a global cast where young people from Azerbaijan to Nigeria to the Philippines (and everywhere in between!) came together to share their heritage, stories, and talent - check out the photos below to see everyone onstage.
The performance was the result of months of dedication and collaboration on our Harmony 2 project, and practitioners worked tirelessly to create space for expression and trust, supported by our phenomenal team of facilitators, producers, assistants and volunteers – all ensuring that global majority young people are seen, heard and celebrated.
We saw:
A dance extravaganza packed with energy and pride
Animations and visuals that added depth and magic
Multilingual moments and cultural storytelling
An impromptu poem from our talented compere
And standout performances from our friends at Culture Bridge and Without Borders
This was more than a performance, it was a statement.
One that instilled confidence, raised aspirations, and reminded us all that there truly is more in common than what sets us apart.
We can’t wait to see what the future brings for our talented young people – congratulations to everyone involved, and enjoy your summer break!
